James Anderson got into the lemonade business after he opened a restaurant next door to his hair salon at 18th and Parallel in Northeast Kansas City, Kansas. He didn't serve any sugary soda pop, just his fruit punch and lemonade, which he made from a secret recipe.
His satisfying elixirs suddenly got very popular.
"Demand said bottle it," he remembers.
Now Kansas Citians can find his sweet, tangy James' Lemonade everywhere from Osco and Hy-Vee stores to Rosedale and LC's Barbecues and cafeterias at Kansas City schools.
James says the secret is in the ingredients, and he'll reveal only that he uses pure cane sugar and just a touch of mint.
ANNOUNCING THE ARRIVAL OF JAMES’ LEMONADE!
Kansas City, MO—June 7, 2007—Palmentere Bros. Beverage Distribution Company proudly announces the arrival of the James’ Lemonade line of fruit-beverages to the Dayton/Cincinnati, Ohio, region.
Introduced in 1998, James’ Lemonade has garnered praise and accolades from various local and regional media outlets. In 2002, James’ Lemonade won a “Best of” award in the category of lemonade from Kansas City’s cutting-edge Pitch Weekly magazine. That same year, product founder and owner James Anderson won “The Freshman Entrepreneur of the Year” award from the Kansas City Black Chamber of Commerce organization.
Despite the critical acclaim and commercial success, Anderson consistently solicits feedback from those who purchase his products. An example of this, Anderson says, is evident in his products current packaging. “Staring out, the products were packaged in 20-ounce bottles and had removable screw-caps. Recently, due in large part to consumer feedback, we switched to 16.9-ounce bottles. In addition, the products now feature a sports-cap top, which will make it easier for customers to enjoy while on the go.”
Current flavors available for purchase from the James’ Lemonade line of beverages include lemonade, pink lemonade, grape, fruit punch, mango, and strawberry.
